I favor protecting the original PFD structure, and I remain unconvinced that taking more money from Alaskans’ PFD checks without a functional spending cap in place will actually reduce the deficit at all.
We need to:
- Implement a spending cap to save as much of the PFD as possible.
- Continue investing in the Permanent Fund as we can, giving Alaskans more opportunity to invest back into their state through the economy.
And, oh yeah. All that money that Governor Walker took away from the dividend needs to be considered as a loan.
